Make it eight straight victories for the Anaheim Ducks but the final win didn't come so easily against the Islanders in New York. Trailing 3-1 heading into the third period the Ducks scored four times to rattle off another victory. Ryan Getzlaf scored twice in the final period, recording the hat trick and his 19th goal of the season. Mathieu Perrault's seventh goal of the season tied the game midway through the period. It was a sloppy first 40 minutes for Anaheim but what makes them one of the elite teams in the National Hockey League is their ability to turn it on when necessary and find a way to score big goals. Getzlaf was as clutch as you can get in this one and when you add Corey Perry into the mix it's easy to see why this team is so dominant. The Ducks will look to wrap up this road trip with a perfect record when they travel to Washington to take on the Capitals on Monday night. Washington heads into this game looking to bounce back from a 5-4 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night. Washington blew two different two goal leads and watched as the Devils scored the game winner 42 seconds into overtime. Alex Ovechkin continued his dominant season with his 30th goal of the season but it wasn't enough in this one as the Capitals let it get away from them on home ice. Washington has what it takes to be a playoff team this year and with Ovechkin playing this way and a lethal power play they can be a dangerous team once they get there. Their goaltending situation still leaves a little to be desired and the rest of their depth up front could be an issue for them moving forward as well. The Capitals depth will be tested by the Ducks in this one and Washington will have to match Anaheim's physicality if they don't want to be run out of their own building in this one. It's a difficult chore to reel off as many wins in a row as the Ducks have and to sweep a road trip like this would be pretty impressive. Don't put anything past this Anaheim club though because they're loaded with talent.
