The Columbus Blue Jackets go on the road to face the Washington Capitals in Saturday NHL action.
The Columbus Blue Jackets are eyeing back to back wins after squeezing by Nashville 4-3 in OT on Thursday. Nick Bonino, Viktor Arvidsson and Mattias Ekholm scored in the third for Nashville. Ekholm also had an assist and Pekka Rinne recorded 32 saves to secure a point for the Predators.
Columbus saw Boone Jenner score in the first and third with Artemi Panarin lighting the lamp in the third. Panarin netted the overtime winner and Zach Werenski added two helpers for the Blue Jackets who received 32 saves from Joonas Korpisalo.
The Washington Capitals have followed a three game skid with a three game winning streak after defeating Boston 4-2 on the road Thursday. Ryan Donato and David Krejci supplied markers for Boston and Jaroslav Halak gave up three goals on 21 shots to get the loss.
Alex Ovechkin scored twice for Washington with Jakub Vrana and Nicklas Backstrom also finding the back of the net. TJ Oshie assisted twice and Braden Holtby stopped 39 shots to pick up the win for the Capitals.
