Gustav Nyquist posted two assists and Jonathan Bernier absorbed the loss for Detroit with four goals allowed on 42 shots.
Kyle Brodziak led the surging Oilers with a pair of goals with Drake Caggiula and Alex Chiasson adding markers. Connor McDavid added a pair of helpers for Edmonton who received 23 saves from Mikko Koskinen.
The Washington Capitals are still searching for consistency following a 4-3 OT defeat to visiting Dallas Saturday. Nicklas Backstrom, Brett Connolly and Engeny Kuznetsov lit the lamp for the Capitals with Braden Holtby giving up four goals on 37 shots to get the loss.
The balanced offense of Dallas received scoring off the sticks of Jason Spezza, Tyler Pitlick and Jamie Benn in regulation with Jason Dickerson netting the winner in OT. Ben Bishop picked up the win for the Stars and upped his record to 6-4-0 with 29 stops.
Oilers are 5-0 in their last 5 road games and Oilers are 5-1 in their last 6 overall and over is 5-1 in Oilers last 6 Monday games. Capitals are 7-1 in their last 8 vs. Pacific and over is 6-1 in Capitals last 7 home games and over is 6-1 in Capitals last 7 overall. Under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings and home team is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings and Oilers are 1-5 in the last 6 meetings in Washington.
The under and Washington have been the choices when these teams meet in DC but the way goals have been scored when the Caps take the ice has me looking at the over for now…
