Sean Couturier assisted twice for the Flyers and Brian Elliott allowed four goals on 19 shots before Cam Talbot stopped 15-16 shots in relief.
Washington jumped to a 5-0 lead on goals from Tom Wilson, Brett Connolly, Alex Ovechkin, Andre Burakovsky and Nicklas Backstrom. Dmitry Orlov logged a pair of helpers for the Capitals and Braden Holtby allowed three goals on 30 shots to pick up the win.
