Capital One Arena and the Washington Capitals host the Philadelphia Flyers in Wednesday NHL action.

The Philadelphia Flyers are looking to resume their hot play when the team begins second half play on Wednesday. Philadelphia headed in to the All Star break off of a 5-1 defeat at the hands of the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning where Travis Konecny scored their lone goal in the third period.

Vladislav Namestnikov led the Tampa Bay offense with a pair of goals with Brayden Point, Yanni Gourde and Ryan Callahan also lighting the lamp. The Lightning received three assists from Nikita Kucherov with Steven Stamkos adding a pair of helpers to make Andrei Vasilevskiy and his 36 saves a winner while Michal Neuvirth stopped 17 shots in defeat.

The Washington Capitals are hoping to kick off the second half of the season with a much needed hot streak. Washington picked up a 4-2 win at the Florida Panthers going in to the break that snapped a three game skid. The Panthers managed a pair of goals from Denis Malgin in the first and second with Harri Sateri making 42 stops.

The balanced attack of Washington featured four different players scoring  with Nicklas Backstrom, Alex Ovechkin, John Carlson and Brett Connolly all lighting the lamp. Evgeny Kuzenetov added a pair of helpers and Braden Holtby recorded 32 saves to pick up the win for Washington.

Flyers are 4-0 in their last 4 games following a loss of 3 or more goals and Flyers are 4-0 in their last 4 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and Flyers are 4-0 in their last 4 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. Under is 4-0 in Capitals last 4 home games and over is 7-1 in Capitals last 8 games playing on 3 or more days rest and under is 6-1 in Capitals last 7 vs. a team with a losing record. Under is 4-0-3 in the last 7 meetings in Washington and under is 5-1-3 in the last 9 meetings and Flyers are 2-5 in the last 7 meetings in Washington.

These teams played right before the break and three goals were scored  and I don’t expect much to change as I’m leaning under again but will look further in to this…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
