The Maple Leafs look to shake off a loss at home against the Red Wings last night as they head into Washington to take on the Capitals.
The Maple Leafs lost their second game of the season against the Red Wings as Mike Babcock dropped another decision against his former team but the Leafs did earn a point thanks to the overtime loss and will be looking to claim both in a match up with the Caps on Saturday. The Leafs have had a tough go so far this season and sit in last place in the Eastern Conference with a 2-8-3 mark and against a Caps team that has Cup aspirations they may have a hard time coming away with a victory tonight. The buds will likely go with Jonathan Bernier tonight with the team playing a back to back despite James Reimer looking very good last night and possibly emerging as the team's go to guy moving forward.
The Capitals head into Saturday night's action looking to win back to back games and jump up the Metro division standings as they battle the Rangers for top spot and with the Leafs in town you can bet the Caps are chomping at the bit to get started. The Capitals are an impressive 9-3 to start the season and are 5-2 at home which makes them heavy favourites in this spot and rightfully so as they are one of the better teams in the NHL while the Leafs will be competing for a top three draft pick. Toronto does seem to get up for big games and somehow find ways to win them every so often but this is a nightmare spot for them as the Caps should score early and often and take this one with ease.
