The Ducks look for their second win in as many nights as they travel from Edmonton to Winnipeg to take on the Jets.
The Ducks look to stay on top of the Pacific division with their sixth straight win as they head into Winnipeg to take on the Jets in what should be a very physical battle between two Western Conference foes. Anaheim has been the class of the NHL since the puck dropped in October and have without question one of the best rosters in the league accounting for their 19-6-5 record and they'll look to keep it going against Winnipeg who has been one of the league's bigger surprises this season and a team that is battling hard in the Central division. Anaheim finished off their home and home sweep of the Oilers in Edmonton last night but it was another hard fought win against the basement dwellers who played some of their best hockey the last couple of nights. The Ducks need to stay focused and fend off the Jets in Winnipeg which is always a raucous place to play.
The Jets continue to find success despite being without two of their best players but their depth and resolve has shone through the last couple of weeks and they certainly look like they will be in the running for a playoff spot this season. Winnipeg doesn't have a ton of fire power up front but have a lot of very talented players that all contribute and with guys like Jacob Trouba emerging as great options from the point this team will continue to grow. Winnipeg is currently in fourth place in the Pacific division but can trim their deficit to the Blues by just two points with a win and a St. Louis loss in regulation which could very well happen on this busy Saturday. I am a sucker for this Jets team but for good reason. They are a very tough team to play against and in this spot with the Ducks coming off a game last night against Edmonton and having to adjust to time zones on a back to back I think Winnipeg is more than worth a look here.
