The Bruins look to shake off a 9-2 shellacking they received at home at the hands of the Kings as they travel to Winnipeg to face off against the Jets.
The Boston Bruins took one on the chin to say the least in their last outing as they welcomed back Milan Lucic to the TD Garden, but the former Bruins fan favourite wasn’t too kind to his old mates as he and the Kings put up nine goals and pasted both Jonas Gustavsson and Tuukka Rask. The B’s slipped into fourth place in the Atlantic thanks to the loss but can regain a guaranteed playoff position with a victory here against a Jets side that has struggled with consistency this season. Boston seems to have struggles when they got into the MTS Centre but after a game like they had on Tuesday night they will certainly be motivated to play better and we can expect they will sharpen up in their defensive zone.
The Jets meanwhile head into tonight’s action sitting in last place in the Central but are coming off back to back wins including a momentum builder against the St. Louis Blues and are very much still in the race for a wild card spot. Winnipeg could very well unload some players at the trade deadline and become sellers and look forward to next season but they will be with Dustin Byfuglien who they resigned earlier this week, taking their biggest trade chip off the block. The Jets are a modest 13-12-1 at home this season in a place where they have had great success since coming back into the league but the problem here is that the Bruins have been lights out on the road. I like the B’s to bounce back in a close game and get the victory on the road.
