The Boston Bruins continue their chase for top spot in the Eastern Conference as they head into Winnipeg to battle the Jets on Tuesday night.
The Bruins have two games in hand on the Tampa Bay lightning for top spot in the Atlantic division and are trailing by just two points in the race for home ice advantage and with a victory on Tuesday in Winnipeg the Bruins would certainly make a statement to the rest of the league that they are a contender to win this year’s Stanley Cup. Boston comes into action tonight with an impressive 22-10-5 mark away from home and and a 6-2-2 record in their last 10 games but they will have their work cut out for them against a Jets side that is still in the mix for top spot in the Central and is coming off a huge win at home against the Nashville Predators. Boston is a slight underdog in this spot as the Jets have been remarkable at home but with a 23-8 mark in the last 31 meetings with Winnipeg this looks like a great spot for the road team to take a huge bite as a dog.
The Jets meanwhile are going to this year’s playoffs after they clinched their spot with a win over the Predators and they are going to be a very tough out, but in the interim without Patrik Laine it’ll be interesting to see how they adapt in the offensive zone as they have some holes behind their top six forwards. Winnipeg has dominated this series on home ice as they are 7-3 in their last 10 contests against the Bruins but with an 8-22 mark in their last 30 overall against Boston they are thankful this one is happening in Manitoba. The Jets are 5-0 in their last five against the Atlantic which bodes well for them here and with Boston sitting with a 21-9 mark in their last 30 road games they know they are going to have to give it their all in this spot.
The Bruins are 15-2 in their last 17 Tuesday games and 15-7 in their last 22 following a win while the Jets are 5-0 in their last five overall and 10-3 in their last 13 against the East. This is going to be a very exciting matchup and the side is too tough to call so the better play is on the under as these teams have stayed low in 17 of their last 22 show downs and that continues tonight.
