The Buffalo Sabres visit the Winnipeg Jets for a Friday NHL matchup.

The Buffalo Sabres have been at the top of their game with wins in four of five after upending Tampa Bay 2-1 on Tuesday. Anthony Cirelli scored in the second for the Lightning with Alex Killhorn and Yanni Gourde providing assists while Louis Dominique allowing both goals on 19 shots.

The Sabres saw scoring from Jeff Skinner in the first and Kyle Okposo in the second period. Nathan Beaulieu gave Buffalo a pair of helpers and Carter Hutton recorded 29 saves to up his record to 7-6-1.

The surging Winnipeg Jets are winners in seven of ten after downing visiting Washington 3-1 on Wednesday. Jakub Vrana scored in the first for the Capitals off of assists from Madison Bowey and Dmitry Orlov with Phoenix Copley giving up two goals on 23 shots to get the loss. 

The Jets received a power play goal in the second with Ben Chiarot netting the winner in the third before Kyle Connor hit the empty net with 60 seconds remaining. Connor also posted an assist and Connor Hellebuyck stopped 27 shots to get the win for Winnipeg.
