The Line: Winnipeg Jets / Dallas Stars --- Over/Under:
The Stars and Jets lock horns at the MTS Centre as Winnipeg looks to end a two game losing streak while the Stars look to move above .500 in just their third game of the season.
The Stars have been one of the least busy teams in the league through the first couple of weeks as they have played just two games this season and have split those contests sitting at 1-1 on the year. Dallas underwent a facelift in the offseason as they acquired Tyler Seguin from the Bruins and Shawn Horcoff from the Oilers and while it may be a year before the Stars are back in the postseason they are starting to piece together a solid roster and will definitely be a contender in a couple seasons. Dallas heads to the road in this one to take on a Jets team who has lost back to back games and will be playing with an edge in order to avoid losing their third straight.
Winnipeg started the season off very well with back to back victories but have since negated that hot start with consecutive losses, one of which being in the MTS Centre which is a very tough venue for road teams to leave with two points. Winnipeg still has some question marks in the crease as Ondrej Pavelec has yet to assert himself as an every night type of goaltender but they do have the defensive presence and offensive depth to account for his downfalls and I think we see a lot of that here tonight. While the Stars have some offensive talent I don’t think they’ll handle the physical play the Jets bring and with four solid lines up front for Winnipeg I think they control this game and send the Stars packing empty handed. Take the Jets to come away victorious at home.
