Jake Guentzel opened the s coring for the penguins in the first with Jared McCann netting goals in the second and third. Phil Kessel assisted twice for Pittsburgh to make a winner of Matt Murray and his 29 saves.
The surging Winnipeg Jets have won five of six after downing visiting Nashville 5-0 on Saturday. Pekka Rinne was peppered with 43 shots and allowed five goals to drop to 26-19-4 with a 2.44 GAA.
Kyle Connor paced the Winnipeg offense with a goal in the second and two in the third for a hat trick. Kevin Hayes gave the Jets three helpers and Connor Hellebuyck recorded 33 saves to earn the shutout.
