Detroit Red Wings (18-10-7) at Winnipeg Jets (16-17-2)
|Date & Time||Tuesday December 29, 2015, 8:00 PM (EST)|
The Line: Winnipeg Jets -130 / Detroit Red Wings +110 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Red Wings look to shake off a loss in Minnesota last night as they continue their road trip in Winnipeg on Tuesday night.
The Detroit Red Wings took one on the chin last night as they dropped a 3-1 decision on the road in Minnesota but have an opportunity to make amends in this one as they face off against a Jets team that sits in the basement of the Central division. The Red Wings are in the mix in the Atlantic division this season as they sit in third place with an 18-11-7 record but they are just two points back of the Canadiens for first and should remain in the chase for the duration of the season. The Wings will go with Jimmy Howard in this one as he will face off against Connor Hellebuyck who continues to log minutes for the Jets with Ondrej Pavelec on the shelf.
The Jets need to get going in a hurry as they remain stuck in the basement of the Central division with 34 points in 35 games and with the way the rest of the division has been playing this season they will be hard pressed to catch up if they don’t start soon. Winnipeg is usually a tough out at home and this season they are a respectable 10-5-1 at the MTS Centre but face a Wings team that is looking to improve on their 7-4-3 mark on the road so they know it’ll be a close one either way. While I think the Wings may be the better team overall I think the Jets are the more desperate group and with a day’s rest I think they get the better of Detroit here and net the two points.
