Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Wild visit the Winnipeg Jets in Saturday NHL action.

The Minnesota Wild have been slumping with losses in five straight after a 5-2 loss at Chicago on Thursday. Zach Parise and Eric Staal lit  the lamp for Minnesota. Staal also had an assist and Devan Dubnyk took the loss with three goals scoring on ten shots with Alex Stalock stopping 8-9 in relief.

Patrick Kane paced the big offense of the Blackhawks with a hat trick with Brandon Saad lighting the lamp twice. Dylan Strome, Erik Gustafsson and Jonathan Toews gave Chicago two assists each and Collin Delia picked up the win with 46 saves.

The Winnipeg Jets hope to get back in the win column after a 4-1 loss to visiting Calgary on Thursday prevented a three game winning streak. Adam Lowry scored unassisted in the second for Winnipeg with Connor Hellebuyck getting the loss with three goals scoring on 28 shots.

Johnny Gaudreau topped the Flames offense with a hat trick with Mark Jankowski scoring a shorthanded goal. Elias Lindholm had two assists and Sean Monahan added three helpers for Calgary who received 35 stops from David Rittich.

Wild are 4-0 in their last 4 after allowing 5 goals or more in their previous game and Wild are 0-5 in their last 5 overall and Wild are 0-4 in their last 4 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. Jets are 5-0 in their last 5 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game and Jets are 9-1 in their last 10 games playing on 1 days rest and over is 6-1-1 in Jets last 8 vs. Central. Wild are 0-6 in the last 6 meetings in Winnipeg and home team is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings and under is 5-1-1 in the last 7 meetings.

Winnipeg is playing the better hockey so I’ll side with them but the juice has to be knocked down…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
