Saturday NHL action features the Montreal Canadiens taking on the Winnipeg Jets.
The Montreal Canadiens look to bounce back from a 6-2 defeat at Columbus on Thursday. Brett Kulak and Jeff Petry tallied for the Canadiens for a short lived 2-1 lead. Kulak also assisted but Carey Price allowed five goals on 29 shots.
Oliver Bjorkstrand led the Columbus scoring explosion with a pair of markers with David Savard, Artemi Panarin, Riley Nash and Brandon Dubinsky also lighting the lamp. Dubinsky added a helper for thee Blue Jackets and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 26 shots to get the win.
The Winnipeg Jets have lost three of four following a 5-4 defeat to the visiting NY Islanders on Thursday. Adam Lowry led Winnipeg with a pair of markers with Brandon Tanev and Mark Scheifele lighting the lamp. Tanev and Nathan Beaulieu posted two assists each for the Jets who saw Connor Hellebuyck allow five goals on 44 shots.
The Islanders received two goals from Jordan Eberle with Mathew Barzal, Anders Lee and Casey Cizkas supplying markers. Ryan Pulock added three helpers for New York and Robin Lehner gave up four goals on 37 shots to get the win.
