The Jets look to snap out of their ugly five game losing skid as they return home to host the Vancouver Canucks at the MTS Centre.
The Vancouver Canucks head into Winnipeg on Wednesday night looking to improve on their impressive road record so far this season as they are 5-3-3 away from home and can add to the misery of the Jets by doing so. The Canucks had tempered expectations coming into the season as they have a ton of young players on the roster and some thought they were likely going to miss out on the playoffs but so far they have been solid and are currently tied for second place in the Pacific division at the moment. The Canucks will go back with Ryan Miller after Jakub Markstrom got the call against the Canadiens as he will go up against Ondrej Pavelec.
The Jets are in a tailspin at the moment and need to snap out of it in a hurry as they are in the extremely competitive Central division and can't afford to fall out of the race even though it is in the early stages of the season. Winnipeg is a talented group and should be in the playoff picture in a few months time but this has been a bad stretch for them that was low lighted by a 7-0 defeat at the hands of the Nashville predators but perhaps a trip back home in front of one of the loudest buildings in the league will be what the doctor ordered. I like the value here on the Canucks but as mentioned the Jets are too good to lose six in a row and after spotting a 3-0 lead against the Canadiens and losing 4-3 I am going to side with Winnipeg in this one.
