Peru and Venezuelea meet on Thursday with alot on the line in Group C of the Copa America. A win for Peru will leave all four teams in the group on three points a win for Venezuela will mean that they advance to the knockout stages and could possibly win the group. Venezuela shocked the footballing world when they surprised Colombia in the opening round of fixtures but to be honest Colombia were not very good on the day and Venezuela fully deserved the win. A brilliant header by Rondon won the game and the team defended terrifically afterwards. Rondon, rincon and Vargas are the key men for Venezuela and if they can perform as well against Peru then Venezuela have a chance.
Peru were excellent against Brazil and were really unlucky to lose the game. After taking a surprising lead the Peruvians went to sleep and gave up the equaliser less than three minutes later but after that they settled down and defended brilliantly for the rest of the game. A last minute winner for Brazil will have crushed Peru but they will be looking to bounce back here in a game that they will feel they can win. Jefferson Far Fan and Guerrero are the key men for Peru and Far Fan in paricular was excellent against Brazil.
Really tough game to call here. I liked how both teams played in their opening fixtures and I think that both have solid defences with attacking quality sprinkled throughout. I'm taking the draw here as I see both teams canceling each other out.
