The English Premier League is close to the end and with Manchester City having already completed the title victory, the big question which remains is related to the PFA Player of Year. This is the biggest prize in the Premier League for an individual player and this year it is going to be contested between Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
Salah has been the most exciting player this season and in the second half of the season, he has scored an incredible amount of goals. Salah is the main reason for Liverpool’s amazing revival and he looks like a top player. The main criticism for Mo Salah is that he lacks defensive ability and while this could be costly, his attacking threat has been amazing this season.
On the other side of the coin, Kevin De Bruyne has been the main man for Manchester City. The Belgian has controlled the side and his midfield play has led the Sky Blues ot the Premier League title. While De Bruyne has not scored as many goals as Salah, he has won Manchester City more games. The attacking midfielder is the creative mastermind for Manchester City and he has the ability to help the defense also.
I think that Kevin De Bruyne will win the award. The Manchester City player led the team to a title while Salah did not and that might be the deciding factor.
