Ajax Amsterdam will host Tottenham at the Amsterdam Arena for the second leg of the 2019 UEFA Champions League semifinal. Ajax currently lead the tie 1-0 after the first leg which last played in London.

Tottenham played over the weekend in the Premier League and were beaten by Bournemouth away from home. It was a very poor performance by Spurs and the loss means that the team have lost their last 3 games. Looking at this fixture, things are not looking good for Tottenham as they lost at home and will have to travel to Amsterdam and win away from home against a very talented Ajax side. Harry Kane is still injured but Heung Min Son should return to the side after the South Korean winger missed the first leg due to suspension. Son will add pace to Tottenham’s attack and that will give them a good chance of scoring. Having said that, Tottenham will face an uphill battle since they lost their home leg.

On the other side of the coin, Ajax played in the KNVB Cup final over the weekend where they dominated their opponents and won 4-0. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar was exceptional as the Dutch striker scored 2 goals. Looking at this fixture, I expect Ajax to continue playing in their aggressive manner and look to score early. The likes of Tadic, Huntelaar and de Jong have been exceptional and they will be very confident in their ability to score at home. Ajax only need a draw to win but considering their recent form, they will expect to win.

In the opening leg, Ajax dominated most of the game as they created more scorable chances than Tottenham.

All in all, I am going to pick Ajax to win this match. Ajax were exceptional at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and they should be able to repeat a similar performance at home. Ajax have already eliminated the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus and I see them eliminating Tottenham and making the final.
