Argentina vs Brazil 11/12/2015 FIFA World Cup Qualifying Preview, Odds and Prediction

One of the great International rivalries in soccer Argentina take on near neighbours and great rivals Brazil in Beunos Aires. Argentina are missing their two best players through injury as Lionel Messi (knee) and Sergio Aguero (hamstring) will miss out on the game. With a strong squad though Martino will just move on to Higuain and Lavezzi up front with Pastore and Di Maria pulling the strings in midfield. Key man for Argentina will be Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano who must pull the team together and face up to a talented Brazil midfield who will welcome back their best player Neymar from suspension. Manchester City central defender Otamendi will have the job of marshalling Hulk and Neymar and will be also a key member for Argentina in what is a game they really will want to take something from having started the qualifying campaign with a loss and a draw.

Dunga will welcome back his prodigal son Neymar as the brilliant playmaker finishes his ban from the Copa America and will take his role as Captain for Brazil. This is a new look Brazil team with a midfield of Willian (Chelsea) Douglas Costa (Bayern Munich) and Oscar (Chelsea) playing in behind Neymar I think. Brazil started teh campaign with an away loss to Chile and barely overcame Venezuela in their last outing. This is a team that is still haunted from that world cup semi final hammering by Germany and they must make amends. I think a win against Argentina away from Brazil would be a terrific start to healing the nations failures at both the World Cup and the Copa America.

Tough game here to handicap but in my opinion there are two Argentina's the one that plays with Messi and Aguero and the one that struggles without them. Brazil are an average enough side without Neymar but with him they are definitely much much better. I am going to take Brazil to get an away win here and send Argentina to a 0-1-2 start in the qualifying campaign.
