With Argentina face a tricky test againt an Equador team that that will be well organised and work very hard for each other. Equador are captained and led by Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia and his work ethic is second to none. Equador were good in the qualifying for the last World Cup and they pulled off some impressive results on the way to qualification including a draw against Argentina. Equador struggled though on the road and this is probably the toughest game in the qualifying campaign for Equador.
Argentina will look to Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Mascherano to fill the void left by the absence of captain and star man Lionel Messi. Argentina though have so much talent in this squad that it is hard to see them not winning every game they play. Aguero, Tevez and Higuain are a front three to rival any in football and with Mascherano, Lamela and Gago in the midfield this is a solid team and one that will be favourites for every tournament they play in. Argentina have reached the World Cup final and Copa America final in succession and can feel slightly hard done by to have not won both. With Messi in their side they are probably the most complete team in the World but we will get a view of them on Thursday without the little maestro.
Taking Argentina -1 here, while this is without doubt a tricky tie Argentina have enough talent throughout their squad to deal with the loss of Messi and Equador just dont travel well enough to be able to cover this small handicap.
