A look at Arsenal's movements in the transfer market this summer, possible targets, likely exits and probably arrivals -
This is being reported widely now that Cech has agreed personal terms to trasnfer across London and become number one at the Emirates, if true this is a brilliant bit of business by Arsene Wenger. Cech is still young , especially young in goalkeeping years and is one of the best keepers in the world. Cech just happened to be unlucky that Chelsea had a wonder kid coming through by the name of Thibaut Courtois who is arguably the best keeper in the world right now. Cech has reiterated his desire to stay in London and therefore looks to have chosen Arsenal ahead of Manchester United.
This is the transfer every Arsenal fan wants to see happen. The brilliant Monaco midfielder is the perfect foil to what Arsenal already possess. Arsenal have needed a combatitive box to box midfielder since Viera left and he has never been replaced this is their chance as Kondogbia looks the perfect fit. Rumours swirl through the footballing world that Ac Milan are on the verge of signing the young Monaco starlet but I have my doubts given the poor season Milan had last year and the larger wage scale on offer in England. If Arsene Wenger can get this deal done then Arsenal in my opinion will be real contenders for the Premier League title next season.
Rumoured Targets -
With Raheem Sterling on his way out of Liverpool it appears as if Arsenal are actually his desired destination. Sterling is said to not be keen on a move to a Manchester City team that is maybe too close to Liverpool for comfort. Arsenal and Arsene Wenger in particular is said to interest Sterling and he wants to move to a contender, Arsenal look likely to be that next season if they spend some money and with players like Oxlade Chamberlain and Walcott to maybe offer as a sweetener to Liverpool this one might just happen.
Martinez is an out and out finisher, a player that should be able to adapt to pretty much any league and the Colombian international wants to play in England. All these facts mixed together by the tabloids has left us with the news that Martinez is a target for Arsenal. I'm not sure that is true with Liverpool and Tottenham far more likely to need Martinez skills next season. Take this one with a pinch of salt!
As above but with much more conjecture and less factual evidence. Vidal is at Juventus to stay in my opinion unless a Premier League team offers silly money and silly wages. Cant see either happening.
Arsene Wenger is an admirer of the young german but this transfer makes no sense right now. Firstly Draxler missed almost all of last season through injury, Schalke are not giving up their star player on the cheap and his buy out clause will only be activated with a £32.5 million bid or more. This is highly unlikely this summer but Draxler could find his way to the Emirates in the coming years.
This one is just fanciful fluff in my opinion. Even if Arsenal were interested in Zlatan I just cant see them paying the astronomical wages this Swedish mercenary is bound to ask for. While Zlatan is a terrific goalscoring machine his lack of effort at times is worrying and on the biggest stage (European Cup) he has consistantly disappointed. This one wont happen in my opinion.
Rumour has it that the Ox is headed for the exit sign as he is seen as surplus to requirements, Chelsea (for some unknown reason) are said to be sniffing around but surely if he does leave it will be for a lesser club? Another one that puzzles me at the moment but we will continue to monitor the situation.
With the rumours of Raheem Sterling being interested in a move to Arsenal comes the inevitable rumours of a swap deal of Walcott +cash for Sterling. It would make some sense for both clubs with Walcott gettin a fresh start at a big club and Sterling moving to a club to compete for trophies every year. This one as mentioned above could happen
