The Line: -- Over/Under:
Arsenal will face Chelsea in the final of the Europa League in Baku. Winning a European trophy will be massive for both clubs with Arsenal having the added incentive of earning a spot in the Champions League.
Chelsea had a very poor end to the season as the Blues only won 1 of their last 6 games. Points were dropped against teams like Leicester City and Burnley which was very disappointing. In their previous Europa League match, Chelsea were very lucky as they failed to beat Eintracht Frankfurt and qualification was only secured via a penalty shootout. This could very likely be Eden Hazard’s final match for Chelsea and the Belgian winger has shown that he would like to finish the season well with the Blues as he has been in good form leading up to this contest.
On the other side of the coin, Arsenal have also had a poor few weeks as they have lost to sides such as Leicester City, Wolves and Crystal Palace. The Gunners have laid all their eggs in the Europa League basket and the team must win to ensure this season results in Champions League qualification. As far as the Europa League is concerned, Arsenal have been very impressive in this tournament. Arsenal dominated Valencia in the semifinals as the Gunners won 7-3 over two legs. Arsenal have also beaten the likes Napoli and Rennes in this tournament which shows that the team has the ability to compete in Europe.
Chelsea and Arsenal have played each other twice this season with both teams winning on one occasion. The most recent match was in January at the Emirates Stadium where Arsenal won 2-0.
As far as this match is concerned, both teams will enter with the expectation of winning the title. Chelsea have been very poor in recent weeks and it seems very fortunate that the team has made it into the final. Arsenal, on the other hand, have been very solid in the Europa League. Arsenal have been the stronger team in this tournament and I see them winning this match and the title.
