Arsenal vs Hull City 12/04/2013 Free English Premier League Soccer Pick and Preview

A match up that on paper seems one sided had me thinking about this over the weekend. Are Arsenal under rated? Ten wins from thirteen would suggest that yes Arsenal are the best side in the Premier League and they are four points  clear of Chelsea. But taking  a closer look at Arsenal's schedule and we can see that they have wins over Liverpool and Tottenham. Lost to Manchester United and really havent played any of the other big teams. I do think Arsenal are better than they were last year and what they are doing is winning the games against the bottom teams which they struggled to do last season and for the last few seasons. Arsene Wenger believes in the squad he has assembled and with the addition of Mezut Ozil this summer and Olivier Giroud finding the form that convinced Wenger to buy him a couple of seasons ago it is a really strong squad. Arsenal have been excellant defensively the last few weeks and have only conceded once in the last five. Alot of what Arsenal are accomplishing in the league is based on a solid defence and tomorrow that stingy defence faces a Hull offence that has not been great away from home, especially against top half teams.

Steve Bruce's side though are coming into this game off the back of a tremendous win against Liverpool, but it wasnt just the win that was impressive  Hull out played, out thought and out fought Liverpool in the second half of the game and Hull were the better team.  Robbie Brady has been having an impressive debut season in the Premier League and the Irish man was at the heart of most of the things that Hull did well against Liverpool. On the road Hull have struggled against the bigger sides losing to Spurs, City and Chelsea but they were not embaressed in any of the games and I think Steve Bruce will look for his team to again compete here against Arsenal in the Emirates.

I have a feeling that Arsenal are starting to believe in themselves, the win away to Cardiff was a big one as Cardiff has proven to be a tough place to go, with both Manchester clubs failing to win there. With Aaron Ramsey on fire and Ozil and Giroud linking brilliantly I think that Arsenal can go out and get a couple tomorrow night and again hold Hull to a couple of chances. The Emirates is becoming a fortress for Arsenal and I expect it to stay that way tomorrow night. I'm taking Arsenal -1. Follow me on twitter @antonpippo
