Manchester City vs. Arsenal

The Line: Arsenal +195 / Manchester City +130 -- Over/Under:
Arsenal and Manchester City meet Sunday in Premier League soccer action at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal could use a strong victory here after losing four of their last five EPL matches and their last two overall. The issue for Arsenal lately has been on the defensive end, as this is a team that’s allowed three goals each in three of their last four matches. Arsenal is still a solid seventh in the league with just 34 gals allowed overall, but they’ve lost four straight matches when allowing two or more goals. Arsenal has to get back to playing solid defensively if it’s going to get back on track and climb up the standings. Offensively, Alexis Sánchez leads Arsenal with 18 goals while Theo Walcott has eight goals and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has four assists.
Manchester City has earned points in seven straight EPL matches and currently finds itself third in the standings. Manchester City is one of the better scoring teams in the league, but they’ve gotten the job done defensively, allowing one or less goals in six straight matches and pitching shutouts in four of those matches. In fact, Manchester City has allowed just one goal in its last four matches combined, and that came in its recent match against Liverpool. The last time Manchester City didn’t earn points in a EPL match was its January 15 loss against Everton. Offensively, Sergio Agüero leads Manchester City with 13 goals while Raheem Sterling has six goals and Kevin De Bruyne has 10 assists.
Arsenal is 3-1-1 in its last five matches against Manchester City, but that one loss did come in the last meeting back in December. The last four meetings between Arsenal and Manchester City have produced at least three goals and both teams have scored at least once during those matchups.
Arsenal has had the upperhand over Manchester City in recent meetings, but it’s tough betting against MCFC in this current form. This is a team that’s racking up points left and right and has been extremely stingy on the defensive end as of late. I’ll take Manchester City for the victory.
