After a weekend which see Manchester United beaten can Arsenal go top of the table at least for a day or so or will Aston Villa pull off a shock and manage a second win of the season? Villa have put in some good performances of late including a home draw against Manchester City and a point away at Southampton last time out. Unfortunately for Villa though those results were either side of a 4-0 loss to Everton and 3-2 home loss to Watford. Aston Villa are in serious trouble though and the enormity of Remi Garde's job is evident from the last month. While Aston Villa have some talented players they are eight points from safety and at the moment it's hard to see how where Villa are going to get their results.
Arsenal themselves come into this game off the back of a tremendous win against Olympiakos midweek. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger engineered his side's progress after a terrible start to the group. Olivier Giroud netted a hat trick midweek and is the key man for the Gunners now that Sanchez is injured. Mezut Ozil, Walcott, Ramsey will all have significant roles but obviously goals win games and Giroud is going to be needed to carry Arsenal over this busy Christmas period.Arsenal are tough to take here at this price, while there is no doutbing that Arsenal are the better team Aston Villa managed to raise their game agaisnt Manchester City here in Villa Park and played quite well last week at Southampton.
I'm not taking a big investment in this game but I am going to take the draw at halftime for a min bet, I think Villa will frustrate Arsenal for a while but in the end come up short. I cant see anything but an Arsenal win in the end but the draw at halftime is value and should be taken
