Soccer | West Ham vs Aston Villa

There wont be much festive joy around Villa Park at the moment, Aston Villa look set to be relegated for the first time in the Premier League era and the club and it's fans are worried. Anchored to the bottom of the league table with just seven points Aston Villa need to start winning games. Remi Garde has a mammoth job turning things around for Villa and they will need to start winning all their home games if they are to have any chance to survive. There  is some talent in this squad with Rodwell, Ayew, Sinclair, Grealish all potential game changers on their day but they simply must start turning that potential into points. Villa Park can be a special place with a passionate crowd and I think this saturday could be a turning point for Villa but they need a win.

West Ham come into this game decimated by injury but have managed to hang onto teams for four draws in a row even with the injury problems. At the weekend they welcomed back Enner Valencia who will be a big addtion up top. Injuries to Sakho, Carroll and Payet has robbed the hammers of some of their attacking talent but with Valencia and Zarate they have players that can hurt Villa on the counter attack. Slaven Bilic also has one of the best defences in the league at the moment as they have conceded just one goal in their last four games.

Very tough to take Aston Villa to win a game at the moment but I do understand why they are slight favourites here. I think the draw though looks the stand out bet. Four of Aston Villa's seven points have come from draws as they continue to struggle offensively. West Ham have drawn their last four games and I see them making it five here as they themselves struggle to find a way to put the ball in the net.
