Game of the week in Spain will see the Champions Barcelona travel to Madrid to take on the 2014 Champions Atletico Madrid. During the off season BArcelona bought Atletico playmaker Arduro Turan but because of a transfer ban, Turan is ineligible to play until January. Barcelona will have Brazilian Neymar back in the squad and with Suarez and Messi the top three for Barcelona are as good as any team on the planet. Barcelona though will be missing half of their defensive back four as Pique is suspended and Dani Alves is injured. There is no doubting the talent of Barcelona but I think that right now they are not firing on all cylinders.
Atletico Madrid on the other hand have been brilliant this season and they followd up a win on the opening weekend with a 3-0 demolition of Sevilla, a team that are expected to challenge for European places and who really stretched Barcelona during the European Super Cup. Diego Simeone is no doubt a quality boss and he has done a terrific job with Atletico Madrid in both building a squad and the belief around the side. Koke, Greizmann, Martinez, Vietto and Torres form a front five that is as good as any in the league including Barcelona's. Simeone has adjusted his formation to suit the quality of the players at his disposal and Atletico will definitely give a good account of themselves tomorrow.
Hard to call this one but I am going to take the home dog here. I think Atletico Madrid are well capable of beating Barcelona here and given the problems Barcelona have at the back I will be taking the home side to get the win. A stronger play is to take Atletico on the handicap but given the prices here Atletico straight up is a really solid play.
