Barcelona vs Sporting Lisbon 5 December 2017: UCL Preview and Prediction

Barcelona will be at home as they take on Sporting Lisbon is the UEFA Champions League this week. This is a game that Barcelona would expect to win but after a draw over the weekend, there might be some nerves for Leo Messi and his team.

Barcelona have a massive lead in La Liga but that is not due to their performances but rather due to the poor performances of the two teams from the Spanish capital. This is a different competition and this is a must win game since a loss might result in them losing top spot in the group to Italian side Juventus. This side is missing Neymar but it seems to have resulted in Messi finding some amazing form. The Argentine will hope that will continue in this game since many of his teammates are not finding football as easy as him.

On the other side of the coin, Sporting Lisbon will also want to get a point or a win from this game. A win will give them a chance of making the next stage of the competition so I am expecting the team to try and get a win. This is a talented side that has done very well in this group but it is not fair to compare them with Barcelona who are much better in all aspects.

With all that in mind, I think that Barcelona will get the job done at home. This is not a good bet due to the price so I would avoid this bet. That being said, Lisbon will come out and try to score which means we will have an open game so the over 2.5 goals seems like a really good bet.
