BATE started this UEFA Champions League with a bad loss to Bayer Leverkusen but followed that display up with a terrific home win against Roma. Bate were very impressive last time out and wll hope to perform to a similar high level here against the Champions. How BATE approach this game will be key to what we see on Tuesday. More than likely BATE will be happy with holding Barcelona and getting a draw from the game. With outMessi there is no doubt that this is not as scary an opposition although with Neymar and Suarez out there it's not like Barcelona are going to struggle to create chances.
Barcelona though do rely heavily on Messi when it comes to European games in particular. Messi is an exceptional player and his injury robs Barcelona of their key man and us the viewing public of one of the best players on the planet. The Barcelona manager Luis Enrique though has a galaxy of stars at his disposal and with Luis Suarez, Iniesta and Neymar in the line up there should be no issues with Barcelona creating plenty of goal scoring oppotunities. There is no doubt though that the current Champions Barcelona will want to get another win here and move to nine points that will almost guarantee Barcelona a spot in the knockout stages.
Not a great game in terms of value for us here. I think BATE have proven over the years that they can frustrate teams epecially at home and their strong performance against Roma last time out has to be respected. For this reason I am taking BATE +1 on the half time handicap, at worst I thik we finish with a push here.
