One of the ties of the night in the UEFA Champions League will see Bayer Leverkusen take on Lazio in Germany with the german side looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg. Bayer Leverkusen were quite unlucky to come away from the game in Italy with nothing as they had a perfectly good goal ruled out for off side and they hit the wood work a number of times. This is an exciting Leverkusen team who will be looking to continue their improvement domestically and fight for the Bundesliga title this year. With young talent like Bellarabi, brandt and Bender this is a side who look to be going in the right direction and Kiebling and Calhanoglu up front look to be a good partnership that could well fire Bayer to many wins this season.
Lazio of course come into this game on a hot streak having won last week against Bayer and then following that up with a win in their first Serie A game of the season. This is a very talented Lazio side who's most important piece of summer business was holding onto Felipe Anderson. With Candreva, Biglia and the aformentioned Anderson there is some serious talent in this Lazio midfield. Klose, Keite and Kishna will provide the quality up front and this is a side that had no fears going away from home last season.
To me this one is very tough to call and while I think Bayer Leverkusen are deserved favourites I think they are too short for me personally to take. Instead I'm going to take over 6.5 corneres for BAyer. I beleive this game will be played on the flanks alot and that type of game usually lends itself to high corner counts. I think this figure is low and that Bayer should cover it easily expecially if Lazio can hold out for an hour or so. This one should be fiery and fdefinitely worth watching.
