One of the match ups of the weekend in the Bundesliga will see Bayer Leverkusen host Schalke at the BayArena. Both teams played in Europe midweek and without doubt this will be a tough game for both sides. Bayer Leverkusen had a round trip to Bate and a tough game in sub zero temperatures. Leverkusen have struggled at times this season and have lost three of their last five but have only lost two games at home all season and will look to keep it that way when they take on a Schalke team that have struggled for goals this season. Bayer Leverkusen will look to the former manchester united forward Javier Hernandez to lead the way, the Mexican international has six goals in eleven this season in the Bundesliga and is among the best finishers in the league.
Schalke are tied with Leverkusen on twenty points in the league and either team could move into the top four with a win here. Schalke will look to star man Huntelaar as they look for a fourth win in their last six away games. Schalke have a strong squad but have struggled a little for goals this season with Huntelaar top scorer with just four goals. While both of these teams will fancy their chances here I think that the home team with the home support are just about deserved favourites.
With that said I'm not overly gone on taking Bayer Leverkusen at 3/5 here the price is just too short and they are playing a very capable Schalke side. I'm going to instead take both teams to score here in what should be a fascinating encounter.
