We have some international friendly action on the soccer pitch as Belarus host Hungary on Wednesday afternoon from Brest.

Belarus will be hoping to improve on their current unbeaten run which currently sits at three games following a 2-0 victory over Slovenia in their most recent friendly match. Maksim Skavysh opened the scoring for Belarus while Anton Soroka notched an insurance marker deep into second half stoppage time to secure the victory for the Belarusians.

Hungary on the other hand will be looking to rebound from back-to-back defeats, including a 1-0 loss to Scotland in their last outing. Hungary dodged a bullet in the 40th minute as Scotland defender Charlie Mulgrew missed from the penalty spot, but couldn’t get lucky a second time as Matt Phillips gave the Scots the lead for good in the 48th minute. Hungary was dominated by Scotland in terms of possession, retaining just 39% possession in the match. The Hungarians were only outshot 9-8 however, and edged Scotland 4-2 in terms of shots on target, but couldn’t find the equalizer in the end.

These two teams have only met once this decade, with the lone meeting being a 1-1 draw in 2013.

Friendlies like these can be tough sometimes with neither team really having much to play for in the coming weeks. With that said, despite both teams’ recent run of form, I don’t think the talent gap between these two is that wide, so I’ll back a draw as the final outcome.

Draw +235
