The clubs are now on international break and for many of the teams this is the first time that many of the European sides will play after Euro 2016. Euro 2016 was a disappointment for both Belgium and Spain and this week they will face each other in an international friendly.
Neither team has been in great form but there is no doubt that there is a ton of talent in both sides. For Spain, this will be a chance to have a big win over a team like Belgium that could be big competition for them leading into the 2018 World Cup. Furthermore, the Spanish team will need to bring through some young players before the next big tournament as it will be unlikely the likes of Iniesta will still be at the top of their games in 2 years. Spain have a lot of talent and for the likes of Nolito and Bellerin this will be a terrific opportunity to impress the national team manger and selectors.
Belgium on the other hand have a new manager and a win over Spain in the opening game of the Martinez reign will give everyone a ton of confidence. This Belgium team was a disaster at the Euros and were eliminated after losing to Wales. That being said, the team has an insane amount of talent with the likes of Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne and Axel Witsel just a few names.
This should actually be a really good game and I think we might just see the Belgians beating the Spanish. The new Belgium manager will be determined to win and as a result this game will mean a lot more to the Belgians than it will to the Spanish. We are getting a great price on Belgium here to win this game so that is going to be my pick for this game.
