Betting on the English Premier League Golden Boot Award – EPL Top Goalscorer 2019/20 Odds and Predictions
Monday, January 6, 2020 at 10:45 PM (England)
After firing his way to the top of the Premier League goalscoring charts, Jamie Vardy is now the bookmakers’ firm favorite to claim this season’s Golden Boot award.
The Leicester City striker has netted 17 times in 19 league appearances so far this season, and currently sits four goals clear of his nearest challengers.
Here’s what the current EPL top goalscorer leaderboard looks like.
Jamie Vardy – 17
Danny Ings – 13
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 13
Marcus Rashford – 12
Tammy Abraham – 12
With half of the season still to play, I view this is the ideal time to assess whether or not anyone is capable of outscoring Vardy in the English top-flight in 2019/20. Let’s take a closer look at the players and their odds.
Jamie Vardy – 1.90
Ever since Leicester’s famous Premier League title win, Jamie Vardy has been scoring goals for fun. But this season, the 32-year-old has taken his game to another level. The lethal striker’s goals have helped Leicester to solidify second place in the Premier League table, and it’s going to be very difficult for anyone to overtake Vardy in this season’s race for the Golden Boot.
Danny Ings – 21.00
Danny Ings is in the form is his life right now, and the red-hot Southampton striker has single-handedly guided his side clear of the relegation zone. After scoring just one goal in his first six league appearances of the season, Ings’ remarkable run has seen him net 12 in his last 15.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 8.00
Arsenal have endured a dismal 2019/20 campaign so far. However, without one of the world’s deadliest marksmen in their team, the Gunners would surely be in a far worse position. Despite the club suffering their worst start to a season for over 30 years, Aubameyang has consistently chipped in with important goals.
Marcus Rashford – 17.00
Rashford’s 12 league goals this season have already seen him surpass his previous best goalscoring tally for a single campaign. While Manchester United are going through a tricky transitional period, the England forward is continuing to prove himself as one of the country’s most potent attacking talents.
Tammy Abraham – 13.00
If you’d backed Tammy Abraham to finish as the Premier League’s top goalscorer before the season got underway, I would’ve called you crazy. The Chelsea striker was nowhere to be seen on the bookies’ pre-season list of Golden Boot favorites. But after bagging 12 goals so far in his debut EPL campaign, Abraham finds himself joint-third in the goalscoring charts.
