Bolivia take on Peru in the second quarter final with both teams surprising us on their way to qualifying from their respective groups. Bolivia were terrific in beating Ecuador 3-2 in the second group game led by captain Raldes and star man Moreno. Bolivia though struggled badly against Chile in the last group game as the host nation finally fan riot scoring five and really it could have been more only Chile took off star men Vidal and Sanchez at half time. Bolivia though will go out and get at Peru on Thursday and I think that this game will be one that could go anyway. Bolivia have generally speaking over achieved thus far but I think the team will fancy their chances as they probably got the best possible draw they could have got.
Peru have a number of stars but captain and Bayern Munich striker Claudio Pizarro is the main man. While Pizarro has scored the winner in against Venezuela and Peru played really well in a loss to Brazil it is going to take more than what they have shown thus far to continue the fairytale. Jefferson Far Fan has been unable to hold down a place in the side but the reality is the Schalke winger/midfielder is one of if not the best player in Peru's squd and the team simply has to find a way to get him and Pizarro in the same line up.
I cant see many goals in this one and I am taking the unders. I think both teams will set up defensively and this could end up in a 0-0 stalemate. Peru and Pizarro should have too much for Bolivia in the end but it may not be as straight forward as many seem to think.
