Borussia is welcoming Schalke in round 31 of German Bundesliga
Borussia has been playing good soccer through most of the season and because of that they are still in the fight for the top spot in Bundesliga. At the moment, Borussia is holding the 2nd place with 69 points and are only 1 point behind Bayern Munich. In their last game against Freiburg, Borussia was dominant with 59% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal and 89% of correct passes and have won that game 0-4. Alcacer is Borussia’s top goal scorer with 17 goals, followed by Reus who scored 16, but Borussia’s biggest star and probably the best player is Jordan Sancho who scored 11 goals and assisted for 13 and is wanted by every big club in Europe. Hakimi is only injured player in Dortmund’s team. Borussia is playing great soccer with lots of created chances and shots and has really improved on the defensive end since the beginning of the season all thanks to great work of coach Favre. Borussia has come close to winning Bundesliga a few times now, but this season, they are closer than ever and with 6 games left to play, Borussia has no room for mistakes.
Schalke is playing one of their worst seasons in history. Schalke is on a 15th place in Bundesliga standings with only 27 points and are only 6 points above the relegation zone. Schalke has won only 1 of their last 6 games and has conceded 12 goals during that period. In their last game against Hoffenheim, Schalke was an absolute disaster with 39% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 78% of correct passes and have lost this match 5-2. Schalke’s top goal scorer is Caligiuri with 5 goals. Schalke is a decent team with some good players like Konoplyanka, Uth, Rudy, Caligiuri, and Nastasic but there is just no chemistry between them and because they lack consistency on both ends, that’s why Schalke is fighting for their lives in Bundesliga. Coach Huub was signed in March this year and is Schalke’s third coach this season but he has only 1 win since he was signed and will probably get fired after the season ends. This last 5 6 games will be extremely hard for Schalke and if they manage to stay in Bundesliga next season, Schalke’s management will need to make some big decisions and try to get the club to the top where they belong.
In this match, I’m not giving any chances to Schalke. Borussia is playing much better soccer and is a better team by far and because Borussia can’t afford to make mistakes in this last 6 games I’m giving the edge to Borussia.
