One of the games of the week in the Europa League will see Tottenham Hotspur travel to Germany to take on Borussia Dortmund. Tottenham come into the game off the back of a tough North London Derby, a game they could and probably should have won. Harry Kane scored a terrific goal at the weekend but is likely to be on the bench here, Mauricio Pochettino has definitely prioritised the league in the last couple of rounds of the Europa League fixtures and he cant be blamed for that as Spurs sit second in the table only five points off top. With a very winnable game against Aston Villa coming up this weekend it is hard to see Pochettino playing his starters here. I think some fringe players like Chadli, Carroll and Bentalab will get the start here and agaisnt this Borussia Dortmund side that probably wont be good enough.
Borussia Dortmund put their stars out in this competition in the early qualifying rounds. I expect a full team here after a tough game against Bayern Munich last weekend which ended 0-0. Marco Reus, Aubeymeyang, Mkitaryan and Kagawa will be instrumental for the German side. Aubeymeyang in particular is having a phenomenal year, he has twenty two in twenty four league games and seven in the europa league so far this season. With Marco Reus also finding his form and staying fit Borussia Dortmund are going to be a very tough team to beat in this year's competition and they deserve the favouritism they have in the competition to win it outright.
Going to take Borussia Dortmund to win this one, the odd are a little prohibitive but what we have here is one team putting out a more or less full strength side and a Tottenham team who are likely to rest key men like Alli, Kane and Erikson. For me this one looks like a banker.
