Action from the Bundesliga on Friday night as Hamburh travel to take on a struggling Borussia Mochengladbach. Hamburg started the season with a brutal 5-0 loss away to Bayern Munich but put things together in their last two games winning one and being very unlucky to lose to Koln last time out. Hamburg have quality sprinkled throughout the side with former Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby looking particularly impressive in this start to the season. Lasogga and Holtby have linked well and Hamburg will be hoping to avoid a repeat of last season's struggles when they easily could have been relegated. Hamburg will be looking to take advantage of an out of sort Mochengladbach here as the home side have lost all three starts in the league thus far this season.
Borussia Mochengladbach have some real problems up front where they sold top scorer Kruse to Wolfsburger and have tried to replace him with Leverkusen striker Drmic. Thus far it hasnt worked out as the team has struggled to settle and have been poor defensively. If Mochengladbach are to have a successful season they must sort out their defence who have conceded eight goals in the opening three games. This is a small squad and they also have a Champions League campaign to contend with and it will be interesting to see how they deal with the rigors of playing midweek and weekend which I think will cause Mochengladbach to struggle. They cant afford the poor start they have had to the season and this is really a must win game for them.
This one should be an open game, we have two teams that struggle to defend and I am going to take both teams to score here. Picking a winner is a tougher task in this one but the price about Hamburg is tempting especially considering the struggles of Mochengladback. Still my value play of the day is both teams to score.
