The first ever Premier League game for Bournemouth will see them face off against Tim Sherwood's Aston Villa. Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has been busy in the offseason and has added quality to his side with the addition of Mings, Gradel and Distin. While Distin is aging and has lost his pace he brings great experience to the set up and will be a good dressing room influence on a young Bournemouth side. Last season's top scorer Wilson will get his first chance at the Premier League level and will partner Max Gradel who has come in from Ligue 1 side Saint Etienne. Bournemouth know that this is a big season for the club, avoiding relegation is number one prioroty and they will need to do well in their home games at the Vitality stadium in order to achieve that.
Aston Villa are a very different side now to the one that finished the season with a cup final loss to Arsenal. Gone are star man Christian Benteke and on loan midfielder tom Cleverly, in has come Jordan Ayew and Micha Richards. This is Tim Sherwood's first transfer window and his team has had a high turnover rate, Sherwood looks likely to add one maybe two strikers to his squad and at the moment they do look light up front but with Gabby Agbonlahor they have a leader and a player who knows how to finish.
While I understand the thinking of making Bournemouth favourites here, I dont see much between these two and would consider it more a coinflip game. In this case I am going to take the away dog on the handicap, I just think Villa will have the know how to make things difficult for Bournemouth and I think the draw is the most likely outcome, getting a goal head start though looks the smart play here.
