Brazil and Argentina will play each other in the semifinals of the 2019 Copa America.

Brazil have been dominant throughout this tournament although they only managed to make it past the quarterfinals via a penalty shoot out.

While Brazil didn’t do enough to score in the quarterfinals, the host nation dominated the possession as they had 71% of the ball. Brazil had 26 shots and completed 566 passes but the strikers let the team down. This is the second match where Brazil have failed to score and that will be a concern for the team.

The defense has been outstanding for Brazil throughout this tournament. Brazil have kept 4 clean sheets and are yet to concede a goal. Thiago Silva had led the defense extremely well while Alisson has been outstanding as the goalkeeper. Considering their recent form, Brazil will be confident in their ability to silence the likes of Aguero and Messi.

Looking at Argentina, the team has not played well but managed a 2-0 win against Venezuela to qualify for the semifinals. Lautaro Martinez and Giovani lo Celso both scored for Argentina during the victory. While Argentina managed to win, the team only had 40% of the ball. The passing was very poor from Argentina as they had a pass accuracy of only 77%.

A big issue for Argentina has been the poor form of Leo Messi and Sergio Aguero as both superstars have only scored 1 goal each.

Argentina were fortunate to make it out of the group stage and I see them struggling in this match.

This match between Brazil and Argentina is set to be played at the Estádio Governador Magalhães Pinto in Belo Horizonte.

Argentina have made it into the quarterfinals but the team has looked very poor. Messi and Aguero look in poor form and the defense has looked shaky. Furthermore, the midfielders lack clarity and the passing has been highly inaccurate. I see this being too big of a challenge for Brazil. Brazil have played well throughout this tournament and the crowd is starting to get behind this team again. With all that taken into consideration, I am predicting Brazil to win this match.
