Brazil were held to a 1-1 draw in their opening game of the 2018 World Cup. This result would not have pleased anybody in Brazil and the side will be determined to improve in their second game as they take on Costa Rica.

Costa Rica were very impressive 4 years ago but the side looks much weaker at this competition. The players are older and are simply not playing as well as they were in the last World Cup. That being said, Costa Rica managed to deny Serbia from winning for a long time and that is something that the Central Americans will take pleasure from. It will be important that Costa Rica defend well again in this game since a failure to do that will result in a big loss for them.

Brazil will be hungry to redeem themselves for their failure to win against Switzerland. There will be many questions asked following the draw and a big win in this game will be the best way to silence the critics. Neymar, Willian and Gabriel Jesus were all poor in the opening game and they failed to play well together. This is something that they will work on in training and if things can click together, Brazil will be very hard to play.

Brazil wins this game in my opinion. The South American giants will be very determined to get all three points and the talent in the side should be enough for them to win comfortably. Betting on Brazil to win is not the best option since we are getting short odds so I would avoid this bet. The best bet I like in the over 2.5 goals and I think Brazil scores enough to cover this.

Pick:
Over 2.5 goals
