Brazil look for a semblence of revenge when they face Paraguay on Saturday night as Paraguay was the team that knocked Brazil out of the Copa America in 2011. Brazil of course will be without captain and talisman Neymar as the Barcelona forward serves the second of his four game ban for a stupid headbutt at the end of the game with Colombia. Funnily enough Brazil actually played a better brand of football against Venezuela and were more impressive than they had been in the first two games. Chelsea's Willian stepped up to the mark and was brilliant for the entirity of the game, Liverpool's new signing Diego Firminho netted teh second goal in the win and overall Brazil did step it up. Thiago Silva led by example from defence and was immense throughout the game, the question will be can Brazil reproduce that perfromance against a better team on Saturday?
Paraguay come into this game full of confidence, having qualified from a really tough group with Argentina and Uruguay without losing a game there is no doubt that Paraguay will fancy their chances of getting a result here. Paraguay will look to experienced players like Barrios, Valdes and Roque Santa Cruz to lead them through this tough match up. Having watched Paraguay though I have no doubt that this is a side that can cause an upset here but I am not sure that the win the game over 90 minutes.
I am thinking this is a game that goes to penalties, with the Copa America there will be no extra time period after the 90 minutes and any game finishing level will go straight to penalties. I am thinking this one ends up in penalties. I am taking the draw in what should be an interesting game defined by defence.
