Brazil will play against Venezuela in the second round of matches in the 2019 Copa America.

Brazil had a solid win in the previous match where they defeated Bolivia 3-0. Philippe Coutinho was the star player for Brazil as the FC Barcelona midfielder scored 2 goals. Everton Soares scored the final goal for Brazil to complete a comfortable victory. The midfield for Brazil was very good as the likes of Fernandinho and Casemiro helped the team control the game. Brazil maintained 75% of the possession and completed 626 passes. Brazil also created over 20 shooting opportunities. The Brazilian defense was led by Dani Alves and Thiago Silva and they played particularly well as they only allowed Bolivia to take 1 shot on target. The Brazilian fans didn’t respond well to their team and it will be important that the team continues to play well so they can win back the support of the country.

Venezuela, on the other side of the coin, played a solid game as they managed a 0-0 draw against Peru. It was a close match were Venezuela had 49% of the ball and took 11 shots. Unfortunately, Venezuela failed to score which meant they could only split the points with Peru. Venezuela will be handicapped heading into this match as they will be without defender, Luis Mago who received a red card in the previous outing. Playing against Brazil is always a tough task and while Venezuela have played well, they will know that this may be an extremely tough challenge.

This match between Venezuela and Brazil will be played at the Fonte Nova Arena in Salvador.

Venezuela have shown great potential over the past year with players like Salomon Rondon providing tons of skill and experience. That being said, I don’t see Venezuela having enough to defeat Brazil. Brazil are playing at home and this team is filled with superstars throughout the park. Brazil had a comfortable win in the previous round and I see them winning this match.
