Many games in the Championship on Saturday are tough to call and this one is right up there as out for form Derby travel to out of form Brentford. Literally anything could happen here. Brentford have been terrible in their last two outings losing by three and four but both were away from home and last week's loss was more because of having a man sent off after five minutes that terrible play. Brentford are the pet project of Matthew Benham who's data analytics and gambling has proved succcessful across the boards, the owner of Brentford will be looking for his team to bounce back here in this spot as home underdogs which is something that would appeal to me personally. I think Brentford are definitely not as bad as their recent results suggest and at 5/2 against a Derby team who cant win at the moment that is a very appealing price.
Derby are in the middle of a terrible slump that has threatened to derail their promotion race. Only six weeks ago Derby were up at the summit of the Championship but a run of eight games without a win has see them slip to siixth in the table just hanging onto a playoff spot. Investments were made in January but Blackman hasnt settled and Chris Martin has gone off the boil. Tom Ince's form has also dipped and overall Derby just are struggling to score goals.Darren Wassall has stepped into the hot seat at derby but it's now a case of can they stop the bleeding and bounce back. I dont like their chances here in this spot.
I have to say that this line confuses me. Brentford are not that far off Derby in the league and both teams are struggling but Brentford are at home and although they have lost three of their last four at home they have won six of their last ten at Griffen Park and I expect a performance after last weeks collapse against Sheffield Wednesday. Taking Brentford on the handicap here and contemplatng a little on the money line as well.
