Liverpool and their new look squad will take on Brisbane Roar in the early hours of Friday morning with Brendan Rodgers looking to build on a strong start to their pre season tour. Daniel Origi, Danny Ings, James Milner, nathaniel Clyne and Adam Bogdan will be looking to start their Liverpool careers impressively. It is likely that Brendan Rodgers plays two completely different teams in the first and second half but the Liverpool manager would not want to underestimate Brisbane who turned over Villareal in a recent friendly and played extremely well in doing it. Liverpool fans are still adjusting to the fact that Raheem Sterling is no longer with the club and looking forward to the possible arrival of Christian Benteke. This is a squad that looks like it is better balanced than last year's side although it is still early in the pre season.
Brisbane Roar got a famous 3-0 victory over Villareal at the start of June but not only did they get the win they dominated possession and scored three very good goals. Clut and Soloranzo got the goals against Villareal and the youngster Clut will be lookng to make an impression tomorrow with the possibility that a move to Europe could be on the horizon for the ninteen year old. This is a young brisbane squad andt hey are somehing of an unknown quantity as a team there youngsters Boriello and Clut along with Brazon will be key if Brisbane are to compete with their more illustrious opponents.
As with all friendlies it's advisable not to put much on the line here but for interest i am taking both teams to score. Brisbane were impressive against Villareal and any type of repeat performance should see them score here and I think Liverpool's new team look good to me on paper and will win plenty of games this year. Origi, Ings and Markovich have alot of weight on their shoulders and we must wait to see if they can handle the pressure.
