One of the surprise pairings in the Europa League quarter finals will see Club Brugge take on Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. The Beligum side are favourites and given that they are unbeaten at home this season there is good reason for that favouritism. Led by the goals of Izguiedo and Refaelov this is a good side who have some home grown talent comign through the ranks and the impressive De Sutter , De Bock and Oulare will be looking to continue to push Brugge forward and try to make the semi finals of Europes second biggest competition. Belgium football is currently riding high and this is the next step in their progression, the club game moving to take on Europe's elite.
Dnipro will be under dogs on Thursday night but that hasnt phased the Ukranian side all season as they knocked out both Olympiakos and Ajax as underdogs. A strong physical side with some good young players Dnipro play good football based around a solid defence and great counter attack. Kalinic has nine goals in eighteen league games and is their focal point up front but with Douglas, Gama and Konoplyanko there is lots of young talent in this squad and they will be tough to beat.
Going to take both teams to score here. I think Brugge might eek out a win but the Ukrainian side will make this tough. Both teams are somewhat untested at this level of European competition but this is a great chance for both to make it to a semi final and I think there will be lots of tension and effort tonight.
