An intruiging game for Serie A fans on Friday night as relegation threatened Carpi play host to Champions League chasing Roma at the Alberto Braglia stadium. Carpi have had some major struggles scoring goals all season and have taken in eleven players in the January window to try to save themselves from relegation. Verdi and De Guzman should come in and make an immediate difference as the Milan and Napoli attackers will bring quality to Carpi's forward play.Top scorer Borillo left during the transfer window and Verdi will be looking to get some game time and replace him in attack. Carpi face a Roma defence that has been anything but solid this season.
Roma have been very jekyl and hyde this year with some brilliant performances being followed by some terrible ones. Roma will look to their star men Pjanic an Salah and loanee Shaaraway who has netted two goals in three games since his arrival on loan from Milan. Under Spaletti I expect Roma to be better defensively than they have been this season. Roma have an abundance of attacking talent with Dzeko, the aformentioned Salah and Pjanic to go along with El Shaaraway and Falque. This is a team that has Champions League quality players but they have been underperforming for most of the season. Roma have definitely looked much better in their last two games though and I think that they actually represent value on the money line here.
Going to take the away team to get the win here. Not one I would be investing alot in as Roma havent earned that type of trust but I do think there is value in taking the side from the capital and i will be looking to get the weekend off to a win here.
