Chelsea look to get their season kickstarted when they take on Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge. Jose Mourhino's side have had a stop start beginning with just one win in their first three games. In has come Pedro from Barcelona and the Blues are being linked with moves for Paul Pogba and John Stones it appears as if the spending is not complete at Chelsea and this team could get alot stronger before the window closes next week. Chelsea though are the Champions and already possess a terrific squad, they just had a slow start not helped by the sending off of Thibaut Courtois against Swansea and a tough game against Manchester City in Manchester. Last weekend they beat a struggling West Brom side but there were cracks in the performance with Mourhino's defence looking really creaky, Pedro scored on his debut though and there were signs of Chelsea's attack starting to click. The Champions will look to Hazard, Pedro and Diego Costa to fire them past a very good Crystal Palace side.
Alan Pardew has assembled a terrific squad here at Crystal Palace, the signing of Yohan Cabaye may just be the signing of the season, there is a reason the frenchman was signed by PSG - he is quality and he has shown it thus far for Palace. This is a Palace side with power, pace and plenty of creativity. Zaha, Bolasie and Puncheon will cause problems for any side and Crystal Palace look like they are going to compete for a place in Europe next season. This of course is a really tough game and they sort of failed their first addition against a top four side when losing 2-1 to Arsenal at Selhurst Park. to be fair to Crystal Palace though they probably did not deserve to lose that game and they will come to Stamford Bridge in confident mood.
This one should be a really entertaining game with both teams playing an attractive brand of football this season. I dont think Crystal Palace will come to the bridge and "park the bus" I think that Pardew will let his team have a go and this could be great for the neutral who wants to see an open game. I'm going to take the overs here. I think both teams find the net and Chelsea probably just sneak it but a 2-2 draw would not surprise me in this one. Crystal Palace are a good side and they are definitely a little value at 10/1 here but Mourhino rarely if ever loses a home game so that negates so of that perceived value. The bet for me here is the overs.
