In the English Premier League, Chelsea will play against Leicester City. Chelsea will be at home as the match will be played at Stamford Bridge.
Leicester City had a decent start to the season as they managed a 0-0 draw at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers. While a point against a good team is always a good result, Leicester City will be disappointed that they couldn’t win the match. The Foxes controlled the game as they had 70% of the possession and completed 374 more passes than their opponents. While the defense and midfield were exceptional for Leicester, the forwards were poor as the likes of Ayoze Pérez and Jamie Vardy struggled. Leicester City had 16 shots but only had 1 shot on target in the entire match. With chances expected to be fewer in this match, the strikers must be more efficient if Leicester City are to compete.
Chelsea were humiliated by Manchester United in the opening game of the Premier League as they lost 4-0. The Blues managed to restore some pride in the UEFA Super Cup where they took the game to penalties against Liverpool. It was a good game for Chelsea as they controlled close to 50% of the possession and took 20 shots. Olivier Giroud and Jorginho both scored for Chelsea. The inclusion of Ngolo Kante has changed to dynamic of the team and I see Chelsea being significantly stronger in this match when compared to the game against Manchester United.
Chelsea and Leicester City last played each other in May in a match that ended as a 0-0 draw.
Leicester City have a solid team but I don’t see them being good enough to get a result at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea will be determined to restore pride following their loss of Manchester United and the team should be boosted by the support they will receive at their home ground. This is Chelsea’s first home game of the season and I see them getting all 3 points from this match.
